Golf Course Policies

We want everyone to have fun, but we do have a few rules in place, to make sure everyone can enjoy our awesome club!

Alcohol Policy

Puslinch Golf Club is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons while adhering to the laws and regulations set forth by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). This policy outlines the rules and guidelines regarding the consumption of alcohol on our premises.

Licensed Bar and Beverage Service

Puslinch Golf Club holds a valid liquor license issued by the AGCO (license# LSL1233931) and offers alcoholic beverages for sale through the licensed bar. Patrons are encouraged to enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly and in moderation.

Outside Alcohol Prohibition

As per AGCO regulations, patrons are strictly prohibited from bringing their own alcoholic beverages onto the golf course property, including the parking lot.

Responsible Service

All staff members at Puslinch Golf Club are trained in the responsible service of alcohol through Ontario’s Smart Serve program and are authorized to refuse service to any patron deemed to be intoxicated or in violation of AGCO regulations.

Identification

Patrons must be of legal drinking age in Ontario (19 years or older) to purchase alcoholic beverages. Valid government-issued identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, may be requested by staff for age verification.

Alcohol Service Hours

Alcohol service hours adhere to the legal regulations as established by the AGCO. Puslinch Golf Club reserves the right to alter these hours at its discretion.

Special Events

For special events, tournaments, or functions, Puslinch Golf Club may have specific alcohol policies in place. These policies will be communicated in advance to event organizers and participants.

Enforcement and Consequences

Patrons found in violation of this policy may be asked to surrender the alcohol in question or leave the premises. Serious violations may result in the involvement of law enforcement.

Amendments and Updates

This policy may be subject to periodic updates and revisions as required by changes in AGCO regulations or Puslinch Golf Club policies.

By visiting Puslinch Golf Club, patrons agree to abide by this outside alcohol policy and to comply with all AGCO regulations governing the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Fog Policy

Puslinch Golf Club is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable golfing experience for all our guests, members, and staff. This policy has been established to ensure the safety of individuals on the golf course during foggy mornings while minimizing disruptions to play.

Course Closure Threshold

The decision to open or close the golf course due to fog will be made by the Golf Course Superintendent or the designated Course Marshal. The course will be closed if visibility on any part of the course is below 250 yards.

Notifications

Course status updates will be communicated via the following channels:

Course Website: The most up-to-date information will be posted on our website.

Calling the Pro Shop: Call (519) 489-6767 ext. 2 to ask our Pro Shop attendant for course status updates.

Email Alerts: Sign up for email alerts here.

Social Media: Follow our official social media accounts for real-time updates.

Tee Time Reservations

Players with existing tee time reservations will be contacted via text and/or email if their tee times are affected by the fog course closure.

Temporary Play Delay

If fog is present but visibility is above 250 yards, golfers may experience a temporary delay of play. Delayed tee times will be communicated by course staff to affected golfers.

Course Reopening

The course will reopen once visibility reaches or exceeds 250 yards (or equivalent meters). All golfers must adhere to the direction of course staff regarding the resumption of play.

Safety Precautions

During foggy conditions, golfers are advised to take extra precautions, including:

  • Using audible signals (e.g., voice) to alert other golfers of their presence,
  • Reducing golf cart speed,
  • Using the buddy system to avoid getting lost, and
  • Being aware of other golfers and hazards on the course.

Refunds and Rescheduling

Golfers whose tee times are canceled due to course closure will be offered the option to reschedule their tee time or receive a rain check.

Employee Safety

Employee safety is paramount. Staff members working on the golf course during foggy conditions will be provided with appropriate visibility gear (e.g., reflective vests).

Monitoring and Evaluation

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.

Note: The safety of all golfers and staff is our top priority. Golfers are urged to exercise caution and patience during foggy conditions. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this fog policy.

Cash Policy

Effective September 9, 2023, Puslinch Golf Club adopts a policy regarding the provision of change for transactions. This policy is designed to streamline cash handling procedures and maintain financial security for the organization.

Change Limit

Puslinch Golf Club will not provide more than $50 in change for any transaction, regardless of the payment method (cash, check, electronic, etc.).

Customer Awareness

Clear and visible signs indicating the change limit will be displayed at all points of sale, checkout counters, and payment areas. Customers will be informed of this policy prior to completing their transactions through appropriate signage and verbal communication.

Cash Handling Procedures

Employees involved in cash handling are responsible for adhering to the change limit policy. They must not provide change exceeding $50 in any circumstance. In situations where a transaction exceeds this limit, employees should politely inform the customer about the policy and explore alternative payment options.

Employee Training

Puslinch Golf Club will provide comprehensive training to employees regarding the change provision policy. This training will ensure that employees are well-informed about the policy’s specifics, understand its significance, and are capable of effectively communicating it to customers.

Exception Handling

In exceptional cases where providing change exceeding $50 is deemed necessary (e.g., authorized management approval for large purchases), the transaction must be documented, and employees must follow established procedures for recording such transactions.

Policy Review

This policy will undergo periodic reviews to ensure its continued effectiveness and relevance. Any necessary updates or changes will be communicated to all relevant employees.

Consequences of Violation

Employees found in violation of this policy may face disciplinary actions, up to and including termination, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation.

Policy Compliance

All employees are responsible for complying with this change provision policy. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary actions in accordance with Puslinch Golf Club’s established policies and procedures.

Policy Approval

This policy has been reviewed and approved by Ben Davies, General Manager, on September 9, 2023.

Policy Implementation

This policy will take effect on September 9, 2023, and all employees are expected to adhere to its guidelines.

Puslinch Golf Club is committed to upholding the highest standards of financial responsibility and integrity. This policy is established to ensure consistency and transparency in providing change for transactions while safeguarding the financial interests of the organization.

Tee Time/Refund Policy

All tee time reservations at Puslinch Golf Club are subject to availability. Public tee times can be booked up to 7-days in advance through our website, in-person, or by phone, while member tee times can be booked up to 14-days in advance.

A valid credit card is required to secure tee time reservations.

Cancellation Window

Cancellations must be made at least 2 hours in advance of the scheduled tee time, online or over-the-phone.

Cancellation Methods

Cancellations can be made by calling our Pro Shop at (519) 489-6767 ext. 2 or through our website reservation system.

Cancellation Fee

Any booking not cancelled/adjusted in accordance with the cancellation window (as stated above) will face a charge equal to that of green fee of each missing player.

No-Show Policy

Any booking not cancelled/adjusted in accordance with the cancellation window (as stated above) will face a charge equal to that of green fee of each missing player.

Refunds

Refunds will not be made for tee times for any reason. Should a round be cut short due to unforeseen circumstances, a rain check will be offered.

Inclement Weather

In cases of inclement weather that result in course closure or unplayable conditions, rain checks may be offered at the discretion of Puslinch Golf Club.

Rain checks will be provided under the following scenarios:

  • If less than 6 holes have been played, a full rain check will be issued.
  • If 7-13 holes have been played, a 9-hole rain check will be issued (in the event of an 18- hole green fee being purchased).
  • If 14 holes or more have been played, no rain check will be issued.

Special Events and Group Bookings

For special events, tournaments, or group bookings, please refer to the specific cancellation and refund policy provided at the time of booking. These policies may differ from our standard policy.

Exceptions

Exceptions to this refund policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to the discretion of Puslinch Golf Club management.

Golf Cart Rental Policy

Welcome to Puslinch Golf Club, where we aim to provide a safe and enjoyable golfing experience for all our customers. To ensure the safety of our guests and the preservation of our golf course, we have established this Golf Cart Policy.

Golf Cart Rental

Rental Requirements: To rent a golf cart, golfers must possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibility: Renters are responsible for the golf cart during the rental period and are liable for any damages caused during their use. For this reason, all renters must have a valid credit card on file at the time of rental.

Rental Fees: Rental fees for golf carts will be established based on the course’s pricing structure. Please inquire with our Pro Shop staff for current rates.

Safe Cart Operation

Course Restrictions: Golf carts must adhere to all posted course restrictions and signage. This includes avoiding certain areas of the course, such as tee boxes, greens, and bunkers. Golf carts are to be kept 7 paces (20 feet) from all tees and greens at all times.

Maximum Occupancy: Each golf cart is designed to carry a maximum of two golfers and their clubs. Please do not exceed this limit for safety reasons.

Terrain: Use caution when driving on hills, slopes, or uneven terrain. Use caution when course conditions are not ideal.

Pathways: Enter and exit holes where cart paths are provided.

Parking: Park carts in designated areas, away from greens, tees, and hazards, to avoid damage to the course.

Safety Guidelines

Alcohol: The consumption of alcohol while operating a golf cart is strictly prohibited and subject to course rules and Ontario law.

Reckless Driving: Reckless or unsafe driving, including excessive speed, sharp turns, and sudden stops, is not allowed.

Weather Conditions: In inclement weather, please exercise caution, and if necessary, return to the clubhouse for shelter. The golf course staff may restrict cart use in severe conditions.

Damage and Liability

Damages: Golfers are responsible for any damages to the golf cart during their rental. Damages will be assessed, and repair costs will be billed to the responsible party.

Liability: Puslinch Golf Club is not liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages that occur while using a golf cart.

Return of Golf Carts

Return Time: Golf carts must be returned to the designated return area promptly at the end of your round or rental period. Golf carts must be returned before the posted time in the Pro shop at the end of the day.

Key Return: Leave the key in the cart upon cart return.

Violations

Violations of this Golf Cart Policy may result in the suspension of golf cart privileges or expulsion from the golf course without a refund.

Agreement

By renting and operating a golf cart at Puslinch Golf Club, you agree to abide by this Golf Cart Policy. Failure to comply with this policy may result in penalties or loss of cart privileges.

Dress Code

At Puslinch, we’re one big family. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

All we ask is that you be respectful to your fellow golfers and uphold the general spirit of the game.

Excessively disrespectful or inappropriate attire will not be tolerated. And no metal spiked golf shoes – please and thanks! Pretty much anything else goes.

Feel free to express yourself and have fun!
